In yesterday’s post I mentioned that this would be an indoors bookmaking weekend for me, especially with temperatures soaring in the 90s to the above 100-degree mark. I took a short break from cutting, gluing, pressing and binding to browse through the wonderful world of handmade books on Etsy. I was amazed at the variety of materials used. Can you identify these materials, techniques or styles in the treasury shown below this list?

  • fabric
  • burlap
  • paper
  • wood
  • steampunk
  • leather

  • polymer clay
  • glass mosaic tiles
  • Coptic stitch

  1. Really cool books! Every one of your features is neat in its own way, and many of them I couldn’t even begin to imagine how to make! I’ve done a little bit of historical book binding before, and a made a few five stitch little notebooks. I love making books, it just doesn’t seem to fit into my schedule!

  2. This is such a fun treasury! Each book is so unique and how cool that all those items/techniques were included in at least one book!
Thanks for featuring my recipe book 🙂

  3. What a great collection! You know how much I love writing. It’s amazing how many materials people use for their handmade books.

  4. Splendid Little Stars

I love books, too, and have made a few. I remember a really great one I received as a gift from someone named Judy 😉
This is a great collection using such a variety of materials!
