In a previous post, Finding new uses for scrap yarn, I discussed how it’s common for me to end up with small balls of yarn after larger crochet projects are completed. This last week, prompted by the fact that my hands are often cold and that I still have leftover balls of yarn seeking practical uses, I decided to design a pair of those fingerless gloves that seem to be so popular these days. The first time I saw them, I thought they were funny, but the reality is that fingerless gloves keep your hands warm and your fingers free to punch cell phone buttons, turn keys in door locks, turn book pages while reading a book as a car passenger in a cold car, and yes, you can even crochet with them!
This, then, is my finished project for Week 12 of the 52 Weeks Challenge. The gloves took less than 2 ounces of yarn to complete, and are now available in my Etsy shop, JN Originals. Looks like I better crochet another pair for myself, though…my hands are still cold!

So pretty Judy. The buttoned flower is a nice touch. And congrats for being featured on One Pretty Thing this week with your garlands.
I have so much left over yarn too….this is a very pretty set you made with yours.
These are lovely and practical too. I like the flower and button detail.
These are great Judy!! I’m a total fingerless gloves addict. 🙂 I’m actually working on another design this evening.
